Are you associated with JCI (Junior Chamber International)?
Yes, we are a local chapter of the Junior Chamber International, the 3rd LARGEST international organization of its kind in the world. That means we not only have resources available here in our area, but the world over. Members are encouraged to take part in our organization's world-wide activities as well as on a national and state level.
What does being a Jaycee mean to me and my life?
Our mission is to bring about positive change, solve problems and learn to be leaders in our community. That means that we strive to be active in our area in order to make that change possible. Being a Jaycee means that you will have a hand in providing a better community to yourself, your family and your posterity.
How much does membership cost?
Membership is on a yearly basis with a cost of $65 and then $60 each year thereafter.
How much time do I need to commit to being a Jaycee?
It all depends on your ability. While we encourage our members to take part in all of our activities, we understand that isn't possible in some cases. There are monthly membership meetings that are mandatory (no less than one a month is required of members) but other than that you are free to take part in anything that you can. We understand that there are other things in the lives of our members and therefore we do not make anything other than our monthly meetings mandatory, simply encouraged. However, the more you are active with the chapter, the more experience and knowledge you will gain which is one of the main reasons to be a Jaycee.
Who can come to Jaycee meetings?
ANYONE! We especially encourage those who are thinking about becoming a Jaycee to attend. From time to time we will have speakers from our community come and speak to the chapter about possible ways that we can help our area and on the month's that we have no speaker we spend the entire meeting discussing future events and activities and training ourselves to make that positive change for which we strive.
